Jurassic Park Picture Book
An illustrated page based on the novel Jurassic Park by Michael Crichton, to pitch the idea of the novel as a picture book. Taking elements of the written text to deliver a visualized scene for the reader to view and understand.
This scene involves the main characters trying to sneak past the sleeping T-rex to get into a raft and get back to the lodge. One key method used in the illustration was the use of vibrant colors to highlight key component of the illustration and to help guide the viewer’s eyes along.
Conan The Cimmerian
Taking a small segment of Red Nails, part of the Conan, the Barbarian series by Robert E. Howard. The illustration aims to explore different aspects of the written story by establishing characters, location and conflict through illustrated vignettes.
With the use of bold outlines and solid color to define shadows midtones and highlights then blended together to render features. The illustrations sequentially show a series of events within the story, thus the consistency in style, colour and lighting to establish continuity and show multiple aspects of the story.
4 elements adventures
A series of adventure illustrations created around the theme of the 4 elements to be featured for the launch of the Creative Medium’s company illustration Instagram account.
The approach in composing the illustrations was to look and feel like a series of book cover with the purpose of illustrating climactic scenes.
